Early am sketch time... did a sunset sketch in Waikiki and
a family sitting near by on the beach purchased the small watercolor!

Day 4 - Hawaii

Home.  That word can carries so much weight,  shifting and changing with  location, state of mind. Some of us never leave and some of us find that even when we do leave, the minute we return it's as if we never left.  And for me, it is more than one place. Jersey, PA, Hawaii... be it ever so humble there is no place like.... Paradise.

Home... even if its a house you are sitting for (complete with dog)
Thanks to generous friends with the aloha spirit who love to travel off island.
It's also fun to share the adventue with a friend-
Griffin brought along his bff from PA- Justin.

Art Redo- Koi Fish

Revisited a painting from my Koi Pond Series that I had up on my walls, but bugged me- at least part of it did.  So yesterday I took it down and went to work.  Much better- fresher, and that one weird looking "parrot" looking fish is now deeply submerged.  Here is the redo of Koi #6.

Pop up Gallery in a Barn

Picture perfect spring weather, rolling hills, and a big barn with lots of character proved to be a great setting for the art work of 9 artists this past Saturday at Scarlet Thicket Farm, Kennett Square, PA. This pop up gallery has been an annual event for the past 3 years and from the attendance and the abundance
of red dots, it was a huge success- and a lot of fun.

Artist as Collector from the Brandywine Valley, PA

Painter Peter Willard is this week's guest blogger for Artist as Collector Series.

The artist, Edi Roberson was a close friend of my aunt and mother. Now in her eighties, she lives and paints in Park City, Utah. The house was torn down to make way for the St. Joe's on the Brandywine Cloverleaf. (DE)

I have always found its moodiness soothing.

Peter Willard paints regional landscapes in the Brandywine tradition. "His intimate watercolors are small in scale, but he successfuly depicts the grandeur of the outdoors." And, as we learned this weekend at yesterday's art show at Scarlet Thicket Farm, there is more to the work of Peter Willard than pastoral vignettes.
